Empowering Learning Through Design.
About
Dr Angela M Even
I am an instructional designer, educator, and project management professional with experience designing learning experiences for higher education, adult learners, and professional training environments. My background combines instructional design, online teaching, project management, entrepreneurship, and business communication.
I have taught and designed courses in project management, entrepreneurship, business communication, sustainability, and professional development across multiple higher education environments. My work focuses on creating organized, engaging, and learner-centered experiences that help students and professionals connect theory to real-world application.
I believe effective instructional design should balance evidence-based learning practices with empathy, clarity, accessibility, and practical relevance.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe learning is most effective when students feel supported, challenged, and connected to the purpose behind their work. My teaching philosophy is grounded in clarity, organization, active engagement, and real-world application.
Adult learners bring valuable professional and personal experiences into the classroom. Effective instruction recognizes those experiences and creates opportunities for learners to apply concepts in authentic and meaningful ways. I strive to create learning environments that are structured and rigorous while also approachable and supportive.
I emphasize communication, feedback, collaboration, and reflection throughout the learning process. Whether teaching project management, business communication, or entrepreneurship, I aim to help learners build confidence, critical thinking skills, and the ability to apply knowledge beyond the classroom.
Instructional Design Philosophy
My instructional design philosophy centers on learner-focused design, alignment, accessibility, and engagement. Effective learning experiences should be intentionally structured, visually organized, and aligned to measurable outcomes.
I approach instructional design as both a strategic and creative process. Strong instructional design requires understanding learner needs, identifying performance goals, organizing content into manageable learning pathways, and creating opportunities for interaction and reflection.
I value:
-
Clear learning objectives
-
Consistent course organization
-
Scaffolding and chunking of information
-
Active learning strategies
-
Real-world application
-
Accessibility and inclusion
-
Timely and meaningful feedback
I also believe instructional design should support both learners and instructors. Well-designed courses reduce confusion, improve learner confidence, and create more meaningful educational experiences.
